Feeding Puppies

Just a quick reminder that all new puppies are to be fed 3x/day. Start with a cup of food and if they clear it then add another 1/4 cup and if they clear that add one more 1/4 cup. Do this for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For the breakfast we recommend mixing in about a 1/3-1/2 tablespoon of plain greek yogurt and a 1/2 tsp of 100% pumpkin and mix thoroughly. We also recommend getting a high quality probiotic to mix into the food (we use DocRoy's GI Synbiotics Probiotic and Prebiotic and also keep a box of Purina FortiFlora handy in the event the puppy has loose stools in which case we use the Purina FortiFlora for about 3-5 days before switching back to DocRoy's. We also add about an 1/8th of a tsp of MSMPure Fine Powder (methylsulfonylmethane) as this helps with joint development in fast growing large breeds and also has antiparasite (including Giardia) properties. Be sure you are using the TLC Adult All-Life Stages food as it has therapeutic levels of both chondroitin and glucosamine which are also required for helping with joint development in fast growing large breeds like bernedoodles. DO NOT use foods that are grain-free due to their link to dilated cardiomyopathy and also DO NOT use foods that contain corn, wheat and soy.
